The transparent membrane (conjunctiva) that borders your eyelid and covers the white area of your eyeball becomes inflamed or infected with pink eye (conjunctivitis). The conjunctiva's little blood vessels become more noticeable as they become irritated. The crimson or pink appearance of your eyes is caused by this.
